How our life is healing…

If you have ever hurt yourself…a scrape, cut or break. You know what kind of time it took for that wound to heal. You also know that we are able to pray and ask the Lord to make the process of healing time faster. We have most definitely been ‘feeling’ those prayers from around the world on our behalf to heal our hearts. Thanks to everyone for so diligently lifting us before the Father.

A dear friend said it perfectly when she said losing Lauren is like losing an arm. I can’t agree more. You see, Heaven’s gain and our loss IS something like losing an arm. We are constantly aware of that loss and we have to learn to function without that part. There are days that are easier than others. My pastor, Darrell Huffman, said it perfectly when he said, “time doesn’t heal, only the Lord does”. He is correct. Cliff and I have experienced many tragedies in our lives including my dad’s death and Cliff’s brother’s death. However painful those losses were, only the Lord healed our hearts. He is doing the same for us these days.

Knowing that so many care for us means so much. Your calls, emails, care packages, memorial donations, visits, hugs, continued support of Unison Harvest and loving words REALLY help us. Thank you for your expressions of love!

  1. Thank you Christie for sharing with us. I am so glad to hear from you. I love you, miss you and still praying for you! Thinking of you daily, Andrea

  2. Hi Guys,
You stay on our hearts and in our prayers. WE know God is at work in you and building a bright future. His comfort, His love, and this family will make the days ahead more bearable. WE look forward to seeing you soon.

  3. Hey Christie,
That has to be the best analogy that I’ve ever heard. Thank you so much for sharing with us during this time. I pray for you daily and in my prayer I also pray that those watching you will gain a greater understanding of being a person of faith that believes God through loss.

    We love you

  4. Hi Cliff and Christie,

It’s late…a bit past midnight. I’m here in Denver…studying (went back to school a few years ago), and thought of you guys…Kristie just recently heard about Lauren’s homegoing and told me a couple of days ago.

I did a search on the web…found your site and just finished watching the slideshow of Lala and Tori. They both are such beautiful girls!

Though we haven’t seen you guys in years, there has always been a fond place in our hearts for you. The feelings we experience whenever your names are mentioned are always ones of warmth…and our memories of you are…”what a ‘cool, hip, happenin’, real-deal’ family!”

I speak for both Kristie and I, as parents of two daughters ourselves (Aubrey – 8yrs and Kaylee – 16 months), we are so, so sorry to hear of Lauren’s homegoing. And, while we, like many others, celebrate with you for the time you shared with her, and are glad that she is now getting to play and run around in Heaven with a big smile on her face 🙂 …we want you to know that we love you and are praying for the comfort of the Lord to minister to you…and walk with you through this time.

I know you’ll always be thankful for Lauren and the love that she’ll continue to hold in your heart. And, I can’t help but think that, like the rest of us, but in so much more of a special way, whenever she now thinks of you…she too will get a big smile on her face, lean over that big bannister, and be saying, “Go Daddy, go! Go Mommy, go! Go Tori, go! The time is short; go, go, go!!!”

Again, we love you guys…and are thankful for what a beautiful family you are. The four of you have touched our hearts tonight. Thank you.

    Mickey and Kristie

P.S. On Monday, March 3rd we’re moving to Boise, ID to work with Pastor Mark Boer at Life Church. If you’re ever near there, our home will be open to you — we’d love to see and visit with you. Also…Kristie’s email is kristieamccaleb@yahoo.com
